A similar example at Karting Almancil, Algarve Portugal:

The Swedes are kinder. In
Svenska Dagbladet
, a major Swedish daily, we read:

"Chirac Received the Sentence with Grace

The president was a thief. In France, both politicians and people in general are surprised at the sentence against Jacques Chirac. Not even the prosecutor wanted to convict, and political adversaries can hardly score any points on an Alzheimer afflicted and beloved old father of the country being written into the proud history of the republic as a simple criminal."

This was a fellow who was elected as the PRESIDENT of France two times - unbelievable! The next time the French criticize the UK or US and the Anglo-Saxon model, this event with Chirac makes a great reply.

The first president convicted for his crimes. Apparently, all French presidents commit crimes (something in common with the USA), but Chirac is the first to be convicted.

Suspended sentence so no punishment.
